Art of Fine Craft 2007: Original Mind/Modern Matter is a regional conference presented by Lux Center for the Arts in association with the Department of Art at Nebraska Wesleyan University. The purpose of the conference is to provide a venue to inform students, educators, artists, collectors and the general public about new directions in process-based arts.
This year the conference will examine how traditionally perceived distinctions between process-based craft media and fine art are dissolving as contemporary ideas and methods of practice in both areas coincide. It will address the viability of the contemporary crafts movement and the relevance of the artisan in contemporary culture.
