Internships

LUX Center for the Arts is a non-profit arts center that has been serving the Lincoln, Nebraska community for over 40 years.  LUX is proud to offer young adults with internship opportunities designed to offer professional experience, networking opportunities and experience working in a collaborative, creative environment. These opportunities are tailored for college students and recent graduates ages 18 and up.


Internship Credit & Compensation
Internships at the LUX are typically 15 hours per week and are paid at $11 per hour. Interns may arrange to receive academic credit through their school. Many colleges require 135-150 hours for internship credit. With perfect attendance this internship would be 165 hours (11 weeks at 15 hours per week). Commitment to the entire internship is preferred but applicants with limited schedules are encouraged to apply. Please detail your availability in your application to the best of your ability. We can work around trips and other work commitments on a case-by-case basis.

Current Opportunitites: 

  • Exhibitions Internship
    • ​Work with our Exhibitions team to learn real-world art handling, installation, and packing skills. Gain work experience in data entry and CRM by digitizing and updating artist files. Work with Exhibitions Director to do research, compile mailing lists, and develop outreach tools to improve art sales. Assist Exhibiitons DIrector with grant/funding research and applications for exhibition-specific programming.
