Artist Series: Hand Building Covered Forms with Gail Kendall
Program Description
Students will begin by exploring ways to create a hand built form from soft slabs, coils and firmer slabs. Students will then explore three ways of designing lids. The final project will concentrate on hand building a teapot, an "engineered form”, that is challenging and rewarding to make. Students also have access to the studio during open hours throughout this eight-week class. Please refer to the Open Studio Calendar in the Ceramics Center for the most up to date hours. This class is open to all levels; however, students should already know how to securely attach two or more pieces of clay in order to register for this class.
