Intermediate Ceramics - Abridged
Intermediate Ceramics - Abridged
In this six-week class students will learn a multitude of wheel throwing techniques with a variety of demonstrations, fun exercises, and assignments to hone their skills and harness the spiral. Students will begin with the basics (wedging, centering, cylinders, trimming, attachments) to start and work our way through the foundational forms of handmade pottery.
Students will learn to make cups, bowls, plates, lidded vessels, and so much more! This class uses high fire stoneware and will include the opportunity to be involved in the cone 10 gas firing at the end of the class. This class is designed so it can be taken multiple times for those who want to take a deep dive into the mechanics and techniques of the potter’s wheel. Materials used are at the discretion of the instructor.
Intermediate Wheel Throwing is for students who have completed Beginning Wheel Throwing at LUX or have had equivalent experience elsewhere. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!
