The Real Me: Abstract Self-portrait Painting
The Real Me: Abstract Self-portrait Painting
What would your self-portrait look like if you were painting a reflection of your life and not what you see in a mirror? What are some of the objects, places, past experiences, emotions, shapes, and colors that describe you? Join us for a fun 2-week mini class at LUX Center for the Arts where students will explore creative drawing prompts inspired by excerpts from the book “The House on Mango Street,” sketch ideas, and create their own painting on canvas to express their identity through this unique self-portrait painting method. All materials are provided and all skill levels are welcome.
This one-of-kind event is provided in collaboration with Linked2Literacy as part of the community-centered initiative, “The House on Mango Project."
This workshop is for Middle School students.
