Teen Handbuilding Camp: Flora and Form
Teen Handbuilding Camp: Flora and Form
This camp invites teens, age 12–15, to explore the beauty of nature through clay while learning foundational handbuilding techniques such as slab building, coiling, and pinching. Inspired by plants, flowers, and natural forms, students will create both functional and sculptural pieces that celebrate organic shapes and textures. More experienced students are encouraged to design their own nature-inspired projects with guidance from the instructor. Possible creations include planters, tiles, vases, wall hangings, or abstract floral sculptures. All materials provided.
LUX camps are offered for kindergarten graduates through students who are 15 years old. All campers must have completed kindergarten (no exceptions) prior to attending camp and must have basic classroom skills. Students must be at least 9 years old to learn the pottery wheel and age 10 is even better, as the person throwing must be physically large enough to push the clay around. Please select camps based on your child's current age. Kids - Age 5-8 (must have completed Kindergarten), Youth - Age 9-11, and Teens - Age 12-15.
