This camp for youth, age 9-11, focuses on creative embroidery and patchmaking techniques to personalize and embellish hats and caps. Students will explore a variety of stitching, appliqué, and beading methods to design custom patches and decorative elements that express their individual style. Each participant will receive a LUX hat or cap to transform into a one-of-a-kind wearable artwork.

Throughout the week, youth will learn both traditional and contemporary embellishment skills—experimenting with hand embroidery, fabric paint, and mixed-media materials—to create bold designs that stand out. All materials are provided, and students are welcome to bring additional patches or accessories to incorporate into their designs.

LUX camps are offered for kindergarten graduates through students who are 15 years old. All campers must have completed kindergarten (no exceptions) prior to attending camp and must have basic classroom skills. Students must be at least 9 years old to learn the pottery wheel and age 10 is even better, as the person throwing must be physically large enough to push the clay around. Please select camps based on your child's current age. Kids - Age 5-8 (must have completed Kindergarten), Youth - Age 9-11, and Teens - Age 12-15.
