Youth Handbuilding Camp: Sizzling Summer
Youth Handbuilding Camp: Sizzling Summer
This camp is for students age 9–11 and brings the heat with a fun, summer-themed clay adventure! Throughout the week, young artists will learn fundamental handbuilding techniques—such as pinching, coiling, slab building, and sculpting—as they create sunny, seasonal projects inspired by all things summer. From ice-cream bowls and ocean-themed creatures to sunshine sculptures and tropical decorations, campers will explore texture, shape, and form while developing their creativity and confidence in clay. Students will also learn how to refine their pieces and add vibrant glazes to complete their summertime creations. Perfect for both beginners and experienced young clay artists. All materials provided.
LUX camps are offered for kindergarten graduates through students who are 15 years old. All campers must have completed kindergarten (no exceptions) prior to attending camp and must have basic classroom skills. Students must be at least 9 years old to learn the pottery wheel and age 10 is even better, as the person throwing must be physically large enough to push the clay around. Please select camps based on your child's current age. Kids - Age 5-8 (must have completed Kindergarten), Youth - Age 9-11, and Teens - Age 12-15.
