Allison Arkush was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, until 2010 when she moved across the country to attend New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study. While at NYU she studied studio art, psychology and the intersection of these two disciplines. Allison (and her dog Louise) recently relocated to Lincoln in July 2019 to begin her MFA in Ceramics.

Allison’s practice has included sculpture and pottery. For the past few years her focus has been on mixed-media, three-dimensional sculptural works combining ceramic elements with found objects, painting, soft sculpture, and collage. Experimenting with the effects and reactions between materials, sensations, and memories is central to her practice.
