MINI FALL CAMPS NOW ENROLLING!

Please select camps based on the grade your child will have recently completed

Immerse your child in creative fun at Lincoln's LUX Center for the Arts! Each day campers will explore new art techniques, work with real artists, and make their own artwork while learning and refining their own artistic abilities. LUX summer camps are led by our skilled teaching artists who will guide your child through hands-on learning in a fun and friendly environment.

We offer spring break and summer camps for students in grade K through 15 years old in painting, drawing, pottery, and more. Register for a morning session (9am-noon), lunch care (noon-2pm), and an afternoon session (2-5pm) during the same week to make it a full day camp. Before care is also available (8am-9am).

All campers must have completed kindergarten (no exceptions) prior to attending camp and must have basic classroom skills. LUX camps are offered for kindergarten graduates through students who are 15 years old. Students must be at least 9 years old to learn the pottery wheel and age 10 is even better as the person throwing must be physically large enough to push the clay around. Please select camps based on the grade your child will have recently completed. For example, if your child is in fifth grade during the 2023-24 school year, you would place them in camps designed for 3rd-5th graders.

Members can receive discounts on camps and classes! Not yet a member? Go HERE to find out more!

**Masks are recommended but currently optional for staff and students. (Updated January 2023)**

Please complete our Medical Release Form for each child participating in our spring break and summer camp programs prior to the first day of class.

Email programs@luxcenter.org to join the wait list for sold out camps.

How old does my child need to be to enroll in a camp?

What does my student need to bring or wear to camp?
*2023 COVID-19 Update: The LUX provides all sanitizing materials, handsoap, and hand sanitizer. If students would like to bring their own hand sanitizer, that is perfectly fine with us. Please bring a mask if you would like your child to wear one. We like our campers to wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you won't be too upset if they get stained. Students get very immersed in the art making process and sometimes messy! Many art supplies can stain clothes. We also ask that students bring a reusable water bottle with their name on it. We do have water fountains but they are not in each classroom. Those enrolled in lunch care also need to bring their lunch in a container with their name on it.

How do I register for camps?
The best way to enroll in camps is to visit LUXcenter.org/camps. Full payment is required at registration.

How much do camps cost?
LUX offers a variety of options and you can build the camp day for your child that fits your schedule. We offer 9am-noon camps, 2-5pm camps, and 8-9am care as well as noon-2pm care. You can sign up morning care, a morning camp, lunch care, and an afternoon camp, or any combination that fits your needs. Camp and additional care are all priced separately. Purchasing a LUX Family Membership will get you a 10% discount on camp price and lasts for 12 months.

LUX does not have a multi-child discount and does not prorate camps if your child has to miss a day.

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule my child’s camp?
If you need to cancel or switch camps, please notify the LUX as soon as possible. Notifying us of cancellations two weeks prior to the start date will result in a full refund, minus a 5% credit card/handling fee. Notifying us of cancellations less than two weeks prior to the start date will result in a LUX credit for the full amount of the original payment. This credit can be used on any other LUX class or workshop in the next 6 months. If you do not cancel by the start date of the class, no refunds will be made and no credits will be given. When you register, your spot is held for you and such short notice makes it impossible to fill that spot as camp registration is closed one week before camps starts to provide our artist instructors with accurate class enrollment.  Please understand our cancellation policy helps us enforce the highest standards.

A confirmation email will be sent upon successful completion of online checkout. This email will contain a confirmation number, date, and time of the summer camp(s). Please save this email for future reference. If you do not receive a confirmation email within a few minutes of payment please contact us as your spot is not reserved OR an incorrect email address was given and we need to update it. Additional registrations may be added by logging into your account using the same email address you used last time. Please select “I forgot my password” the first time you login to set your password. If you need to make changes to existing class selections please contact the LUX education department. If a summer camp is full you can email programs@luxcenter.org to be placed on a wait list. If there is an opening, you will be contacted. If your child is enrolled in a camp but needs to switch to another date, time, or can no longer attend you must contact the LUX at least two weeks prior to the class in order to be eligible for any refund.

General Information

General Information

Please complete our Medical Release Form (emailed to you) for each child attending summer camps at the LUX Center prior to the first day of class. Students are served a light snack midway through camp so food allergy information is especially important. In case of emergency, instructors and staff have contact information for parents/guardians and have been instructed to follow LUX Center emergency procedures. Notify the instructor and the Department of Learning & Engagement if your contact information has changed from the time that you registered. Students who have not returned a Medical Release form will not be allowed to attend camp.

Please send your child to camp with a reusable water bottle with their name on it. We do have water fountains but they are not in each classroom. Those enrolled in lunch care also need to bring their lunch in a container with their name on it.

Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before the camp start time. Doors will be locked until that time. Our instructors generally arrive 15-20 minutes before class and need the time to prepare supplies.
**For those enrolled, morning care starts at 8am, morning camps start at 9am, afternoon camps start at 2pm.

LUX is located at 2601 N 48th Street on the corner of 48th and Baldwin Street
**Morning care and clay camps are located in the Ceramics Center, on the West side of our parking lot. (Enter through purple door facing Baldwin)
**All other camps and activities take place in our main building. (Enter through the glass door facing the parking lot.)
**If your child is enrolled in multiple camps the pick-up location may be different than the drop off location.

Please have your child wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you won't be too upset if they get stained. Students get very immersed in the art making process and sometimes messy! Many art supplies can stain clothes.

We ask that parents/guardians do not stay in the classroom during class. This can create a difficult dynamic for instructors and students. You can feel safe knowing that all staff and volunteers that work with children at LUX must go through a background check process.

If your child makes clay projects during their camp they will be available for pick up two weeks after the last day of camp. Projects are alphabetized by student name in the pick up area.
