Plaid Mtn. is the basecamp for freelance illustrator and designer, Matt Carlson. Matt currently resides in Omaha, Nebraska, where he was born and raised. Matt has worked with clients such as CLIF Bar, Uber, Volkswagen, BBVA Compass, Intel, Red Bull, and Men's Health Magazine, among others. He is passionate about all things art and design, and received a Bachelors of Fine Arts with an emphasis in painting from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.  

After working at Grain & Mortar, a strategy and design studio in Omaha for a couple of years, Matt ventured out on his own and has been freelancing full-time ever since. He is proud to have many clients and collaborators around the globe and excited to have recently released his own art prints that are now available on this site. Lately, Matt has been placing an emphasis on illustration work, but will always love working on branding, identity, and event design projects.
