My current body of work is an exploration of materials and an expression of relational dynamics. It began with the inspiration of my grandmother and a yearning for her humble perfection and serene order and how I perceived them to be an unattainable reality. It has grown into an investigation of interiors and exteriors—what is visible versus what remains hidden. Surface patterns and intimate details are devices I use to reflect what we choose to reveal or conceal in our relationships. My visual language consists of quilt-inspired patterns and rounded shapes, often imperfect and offset. I combine metal with alternative and repurposed materials to create complex and engaging forms.
