In this 8-week class led by Artist-in-Residence Stacy Larsen, advanced students will learn to wheel-throw matching tableware sets using smooth white stoneware. Demonstrations will include tea sets, pitcher and cups, matching mugs, salt and pepper shakers, place settings, and other specialty ware. Design elements to be covered include form, proportions, curvilinear profiles, and volume.

One bag of commercial stoneware, kiln firings, and related glazes are included. Students also have access to the studio during open hours throughout this eight-week class. Please refer to the Open Studio Calendar in the Ceramics Center for the most up-to-date hours. This class is for students 16+.

Pre-registration is required.

Prerequisite: Student has taken Intermediate Wheel or has similar experience elsewhere. Student has lots of throwing experience and is comfortable with various forms on the wheel and is knowledgeable about the ceramic process. Designed for students who want to develop their own ideas and find their unique voice in clay.
