Ceramic Sugar Skulls Workshop

Ceramic Sugar Skulls Workshop

Program Description

Calaveras de Azúcar (Sugar skulls) are traditional Mexican decorative candies traditionally prepared for Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead), a tradition that blends pre-Hispanic and post-colonial traditions of Mexico. The sugar skulls traditionally are made of sugar, chocolate or amaranth, and are to commemorate loved ones who have passed away.  In this workshop each student will be provided a clay skull which then will be decorated using colored slips to replicate the look of sugar and icing. No experience required. This class is for Adults 16+.

Pre-registration is required.

NOTE: An art class or workshop running is contingent on a minimum of 3 participants being enrolled 48 hours prior to the scheduled class/workshop. Cancellation notices will be emailed, and you may respond with an alternate class/workshop choice or request a refund. You’re encouraged to invite a friend to ensure that your class/workshop runs.
