Free Pride Workshops in Collaboration with DAME
This May, LUX Center for the Arts is teaming up with DAME to host two FREE workshops in celebration of Pride. Designed to empower self-expression, honor identity, and bring the community together through art. Whether you're preparing for the parade or simply want to celebrate in your own unique way, these free workshops are the perfect space to get creative and connect.
Both events will be led by LUX’s artist-in-residence, Jewelya Coffey, and will take place at DAME, located at 2713 North 48th Street in Lincoln, NE. They are open to participants aged 16 and up, and while they are free to attend, registration is required to reserve your materials.
Decorate Your Stonewall Brick Workshop
Sunday, May 18 | 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Inspired by the spirit of Pride’s roots, this workshop invites participants to decorate their own symbolic Stonewall brick, a creative act of resistance, affirmation, and visibility. All materials will be provided, including bricks, paint, markers, decorative jewels, and more.
This workshop will be held during the May's Uni Place Creative District Maker’s Market, drop by for the market, stay to decorate your brick!

Decorate Your TUTU for Pride Workshop
Saturday, May 31 | 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Whether you’re marching, dancing, or celebrating in your own way, this workshop is all about showing up and showing out in a look that’s unmistakably yours. Participants will have access to a wide array of decorating supplies including tulle, rhinestones, glitter, ribbons, fabric paint, and more.
This is your moment to shine before Pride! Come make magic, connect with community, and leave with a tutu that screams YOU!
