On Sunday, January 17 LUX Center for the Arts presented awards to the 2021 LUX Art Scholars. Each award recipient received a $500 gift certificate to take art classes at the LUX throughout the next year, a certificate, a t-shirt, and a kit of painting and drawing supplies to take home. This year we awarded 47 students from 26 Lincoln schools.

The winning students were selected by their school’s art teachers based their artistic ability and the possibility for this scholarship to be transformative in their life. With the scholarship, these students will be able to take almost a year’s worth of classes at the LUX.

The LUX Art Scholar program is generously supported by the Pearle Francis Finigan Foundation and the Pace Woods Foundation. This program is sustaining our mission and helping us to create the next generation of artists and creative leaders in our community.
