Sarah is a ceramics fellow at the LUX Center for the Arts in Lincoln, Nebraska. Originally from Idaho, she studied photojournalism at Northern Arizona University and in 2019 she moved to Nebraska to work as the media manager for National Geographic photographer, Joel Sartore. Photography and videography have been much of her focus in her professional life, but pottery has always been a creative outlet and hobby. Though she has worked with ceramics on and off for the last 16 years, she more recently dove deeper into the medium after finding the LUX through pottery classes in May of 2021, and later becoming a fellow in July of 2022. She prefers creating ceramics on the wheel and has recently begun exploring hand building. Her work is primarily reclaimed cone 10 stoneware and many of her pieces have been described as utilitarian.
