Biography

Alyssa Laurel Ringler comes from a family of artists, a constant source of inspiration in her practice. She is an interdisciplinary artist with a focus in communication, action, and technology. Whether it is through photography, book arts, interactive digital design, or printmaking, Alyssa approaches each project as a communication equation that can be solved or at the very least, revealed.

Artist Statement

Putting something to paper could be no more but as much as a fleeting thought made tangible. As a printmaker I can be as precise or imprecise as I want. I can make marks or chip away at blocks with whatever intensity feels right in that moment. I love the limitations of working a piece of plywood and the freedom a hairdryer can give to carving a linoleum block.
