Biography

It was first after finishing school that she started to work with glass and developed a new mode of expression that was more graphic and where the shadows became an important part of the works. She has worked with sculptures, shadow-objects and glass bowls. She deliberately seeks to contrast the form and the colors in her works, which also includes large glass ornamentation assignments.

Vogt's work is inspired by geometry and architecture where she explores lines and space. Her colors have often been red, black and white. Simultaneously with her sculptures in glass, she has been working with jewelry in porcelain. Her first porcelain brooches were shown at MoMA, New York, as part of The Danish Crafts show "CC+ for MoMA" in 2006.

In 2008, she started to do flameworked jewelry and have developed a series of necklaces, bracelets and rings.

Her artistic talents have been acknowledged with several awards including grants from The Danish Arts Foundation and The Danish National Bank's Jubilee Foundation. Jette Vogt has studios in Denmark and the United States.
