Exhibition Description

Shiny plastic toys and bright New York City police cars are seen in Joseph Cavalieri’s playful large scale works. He is intrigued by the cross pollination of cultures, especially of the US and Asia. Mastering oil painting this New York artist visits the LUX Center for the Arts for this solo exhibition of his paintings. You may recognize his painting style from the last two LUX auctions.

Using his love of painted toys, New York artist Joseph Cavalieri energetically combines familiar and unknown subjects in a refreshing and very detailed manner. He is intrigued by the cross pollination of cultures, especially of the US and Asia. Unique visual collaborations are created through his personal vision of shiny plastic Funko toys and historic New York City police cars.
