Current exhibiting artist, Janis Mars Wunderlich, will give a demonstration and walk through the process of how she tells stories through building, texturing, and glazing ceramic forms. She begins by conceptualizing stories, memories, and inspirations in her sketchbook, then translates these into hand-built, highly textured ceramic forms. She adds lively figures and details, along with layers of underglaze and overglaze to achieve a complex and intricate surface. Her discussion and demonstration will be Saturday, June 5 at noon. This demonstration is free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to continue wearing masks while inside our facilities and during the demonstration for the safety + protection of others.
