Pha Nguyen earned his BFA in Painting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He was a recipient of the Elgas Project Award and the Dean’s Purchase Award. Nguyen is a multi-disciplinary artist who primarily works with photography, graphite, oil paintings, and clay. His recent pottery work is inspired by the simplicity and beauty of functional ware for everyday use. Nguyen uses traditional wheel-throwing techniques to create both functional and decorative pieces, hoping to bring a sense of warmth and comfort to the homes of those who purchase them. Currently residing in Lincoln, Nebraska, Nguyen continues to explore new and inventive ways of telling stories through the arts.
