Youth Handbuilding Camp: How does your Garden Grow?
Youth Handbuilding Camp: How does your Garden Grow?
This camp for youth, age 9–11, focuses on handbuilding with clay, giving students the chance to create garden-inspired functional and sculptural projects. Campers will make items such as flower pots, garden stakes, leaf-shaped bowls, birdhouses, wind chimes, and whimsical garden creatures or gnomes. Experienced students are welcome to join and continue refining their skills, while beginners will gain confidence with basic handbuilding techniques like slab building, coiling, and pinching. All materials are provided, and campers will have fun bringing their imaginative garden creations to life!
LUX camps are offered for kindergarten graduates through students who are 15 years old. All campers must have completed kindergarten (no exceptions) prior to attending camp and must have basic classroom skills. Students must be at least 9 years old to learn the pottery wheel and age 10 is even better, as the person throwing must be physically large enough to push the clay around. Please select camps based on your child's current age. Kids - Age 5-8 (must have completed Kindergarten), Youth - Age 9-11, and Teens - Age 12-15.
