Youth Handbuilding: Wild, Wild ,World!
Youth Handbuilding: Wild, Wild ,World!
This camp invites youth, age 9–11, to explore animals and nature through hands-on clay building. Students will learn foundational handbuilding techniques—including slabs, coils, and pinching—to create both sculptural and functional ceramics inspired by plants, wildlife, and the natural world. Campers can choose their own nature-themed subjects to bring to life, while more experienced participants will have the opportunity to work more independently and challenge themselves with advanced projects. This camp is perfect for young artists who love creativity, curiosity, and all things nature. All materials provided.
LUX camps are offered for kindergarten graduates through students who are 15 years old. All campers must have completed kindergarten (no exceptions) prior to attending camp and must have basic classroom skills. Students must be at least 9 years old to learn the pottery wheel and age 10 is even better, as the person throwing must be physically large enough to push the clay around. Please select camps based on your child's current age. Kids - Age 5-8 (must have completed Kindergarten), Youth - Age 9-11, and Teens - Age 12-15.
