Ceramic Artist Fellowships

The LUX Center's Ceramic Artist Fellowship allows artists to volunteer in exchange for space and facility access. In exchange for 3 hours per week of volunteer work, LUX Fellows recieve access to one storage shelf in the ceramics studio, kiln access, basic studio glazes and slips, and participation in June and November fellows group exhibition in the Wake Gallery. 

Fellowship Opportunities: 

Student Resource ManagerNathan Murray

  • Monitor the ceramics center on a scheduled evening for studio hours
  • Organize quarterly critiques for fellows and residents
  • Volunteer at Summerfest, Winterfest, & Auction
  • Support other fellows & residents as needed
     

Gallery Assistant – Open

  • Work one 3 hour shift in the shop per week.
  • Volunteer at Summerfest, Winterfest, & Auction
  • Support other fellows & residents as needed
     

Clay Manager 1 Merrell Andersen

  • Make clay for youth classes. Ensure all bins are filled each week.
  • Volunteer at Summerfest, Winterfest, & Auction
  • Support other fellows as needed
     

Clay Manager 2 - Open

  • Make and bag clay into 25lb blocks
  • Ensure aprons and towels are washed regularly
  • Volunteer at Summerfest, Winterfest, & Auction
  • Support other fellows & residents as needed

Glaze Manager – Open

  • Keep youth and adult glaze containers full & clean
  • Mix large batches of dipping glazes as needed
  • Volunteer at Summerfest, Winterfest, & Auction
  • Support other fellows & residents as needed
     

Task ManagerErika (Rikki) Neumann

  • Complete tasks as needed
  • Keep all surfaces clean – tables, floors, sinks, shelves, and boards
  • Volunteer at Summerfest, Winterfest, & Auction
  • Support other fellows & residents as needed
