Beyond Place is rooted in the belief that a photograph can transcend its physical location. My work is more than a record of where an image was captured—it is an invitation for viewers to look past location and project their own experiences into the frame.

I use my camera as a tool to explore the world around me, both familiar and new. Working in black and white strips away the distraction of color and introduces an ambiguity of time and place. This allows the viewer’s attention to focus on the interplay of texture, light, and form. By displaying images from locations near and far side by side, I create visual conversations that reveal unexpected similarities, encouraging viewers to build new connections across disparate landscapes.

Each piece is titled with its location, followed by the camera-given file number. This pairing pays homage to the photographic medium and underscores the central premise that place matters, but it is never the full meaning of an image.
