Cartonería Sculpture
Cartonería Sculpture
Cartonería is the art making sculptures with cardboard and is part of Mexico’s rich paper-based craft tradition. Traditionally, cartonería is made with the top layer of corrugated cardboard and wheat paste, like paper mâché, but cardboard provides further stability. The form is dried and then can be painted, decorated or further refined. In this 6-week class, students will learn the process of harvesting materials, proper mixing recipes, and ratios, building armatures, decorating and surface treatment of Cartonería. No experience required. This class is for Adults 16+.
Pre-registration is required.
