Making handmade paper has enjoyed a resurgence, both as a traditional craft and as an art-form. Papermaking involves dipping a screen stretched across a frame—known as the “mould and deckle”—into a vat of pulp (made from recycled paper or plant materials), which results in randomly interwoven fibers. In this workshop, students will experiment with papermaking and colored pulp painting. All materials will be provided. Projects will be ready about two weeks after the workshop. This workshop is for adults 16+.

Inspired by collage artist Eric Carle, the author of The Very Hungry Caterpillar, this class will teach students how to use colored pencils, paint, ink, and more to create original textures they can collage to make pictures and illustrations. All materials will be provided. This class is for children grades K-2.

A zine is a homemade publication that is all about self-expression and creativity! The word zine is derived from “fanzine” and zines are typically produced using a photocopy machine, folded, and staple-bound, but they can be printed and bound in any manner. Students will create and print their own zines in this fun 4-week class! All materials will be provided. This class is for youth grades 3-5.

One of our most popular camp art activities, 3D Pens can be used to draw a raised graphic on a piece of paper or any flat surface. But what makes a 3D pen truly unique is its ability to “draw” in mid-air, allowing you to instantly form 3-D sculptures and structures. In this workshop, participants will use 3D pens to create an artistic sculpture or structure. For youth 15 years and younger, an adult must participate in the workshop – the registration fee covers one individual, and you must register for each adult and child/youth attending.
