Learn to use a variety of art techniques and materials! Each class will focus on learning about a new art medium and creating a finishing a piece of your own. Clay, painting, drawing, and mixed media will be explored.

Grade 3-5.

Learn to use a variety of art techniques and materials! Each class will focus on learning about a new art medium and creating an artwork to take home. Clay, painting, printing, drawing, and mixed media will be explored. Lessons change from month to month so the class can be repeated.

This class will introduce beginning students to the fundamentals of painting with oil paints and allow more advanced students time to hone their skills. All paints and materials provided.

Prerequisite: Participants must have prior metalsmithing experience in order to participate. Open studio hours are designed to allow students to work on projects independently. An instructor will be available to answer questions as needed. You may sign up for as little as one night or all available nights. Students will have access to our metalsmithing studio but must provide their own materials.

Learn to shape, form and fuse metal! Make your own jewelry and art. Copper will be used the first week and sterling silver the last three weeks. Students who have taken a metalsmithing class before can work more independently. All supplies and tools are provided.

At this time we are anticipating COVID still being an issue in our community. Masks are still required for all staff and students. LUX staff will work to maintain a sanitized facility. If the Lancaster COVID risk dial moves to green, we will re-evaluate and notify students of any changes.

Explore your voice through creative expression! Expressions of Art and Hope is a series of free art classes for individuals living with and beyond cancer. All participants must register individually. Classes take place at the LUX Center for the Arts.
