Plein Air Workshop
En plein air is a French expression meaning “in the open air,” and refers to the act of painting/drawing outdoors with the artist's subject in full view. In this drop-in class, participants will be introduced to landscape drawing and flora/fauna drawing en plain air. LUX Teaching Artist Tom Meyers will be present to host the sessions and assist participants as needed.
Participants will meet at The Arboretum on East Campus (just east of the Dairy Store on the Campus Loop, north of 38th and Holdrege St.) at 9am. Please bring a folding chair and any desired drawing materials. Drawing boards and easels will be available as desired.
Pre-registration is recommended. Drop-in participants welcome. $20 per person per session. This class is for adults 16+.
