Quilts & Clay: International Quilt Museum and LUX Center Collaboration
Quilts & Clay: International Quilt Museum and LUX Center Collaboration
Join us for this collaboration between The International Quilt Museum and The LUX Center for the Arts for this fun ceramic workshop. Inspired by the exhibition: Where Pattern Rests by Jaden Estes Carlson which is up through February 27th in the East Gallery at The LUX Center, this 2-day weekend workshop will allow you to spend Saturday at the Quilt Museum, getting a tour of the collection, sketching patterns and textures that inspire you, and getting feedback from your instructor and peers. Sunday will be spent at the LUX Center, creating a ceramic piece of art using your sketches from the Quilt Museum as inspiration for patterns, textures, and surface decoration. This class is led by ceramic Artist in Residence David Kruk, who is an expert at various surface decorating techniques. All pieces will be low-fired (cone 04) and ready for pickup in two weeks. No experience necessary. All materials provided. This class is for Adults ages 16+.
Pre-registration is required.
NOTE: An art class or workshop running is contingent on a minimum of 3 participants being enrolled 48 hours prior to the scheduled class/workshop. Cancellation notices will be emailed, and you may respond with an alternate class/workshop choice or request a refund. You’re encouraged to invite a friend to ensure that your class/workshop runs.
