First Friday at LUX
First Friday at LUX
Join us at LUX on Friday, June 5 from 5-8 pm for our First Friday Opening Reception – an evening of art and community. Explore new exhibitions across our galleries, meet artists and fellow art lovers, enjoy refreshments and conversation.
Happenings this month include:
• Artist Talks by Matthew Sontheimer in the East Gallery and Camille Rotermund in the Wake Gallery.
• A book signing for ‘Grownups Say the Strangest Things’ by Geri True, illustrated by Karissa Bettendorf. The artist will be bringing examples of her work from the book. Why do adults say such confusing things? Happy the Hedgehog sets out to unravel the silliest sayings grownups use. With lively rhymes and lots of laughs, Grownups Say the Strangest Things celebrates the innocence of childhood and the magic of language and imagination.
