Create your own handmade ceramic candles in this collaborative workshop between the LUX Ceramics and Mixed Media departments. During the first session, students will hand-build or decorate a ceramic vessel using sgraffito with Ceramic Artist in Residence David Kruk. After the vessels have been fired, students will return the following week to melt, dye, scent, wick, and pour their own soy wax candles with Mixed Media Artist in Residence Alex Renbarger. This two-part workshop guides students through the entire process, from creating a functional ceramic vessel to transforming it into one or more handcrafted candles. No prior candle-making or ceramic experience is necessary. All materials are provided. This class is for adults ages 16+.

NOTE: An art class or workshop running is contingent on a minimum of 3 participants being enrolled 48 hours prior to the scheduled class/workshop.
