Grab your family and friends and join us for a fun afternoon of hands-on artmaking! You are guided through the basics of creating a fused glass object by one of our talented teaching artists. For youth, an adult must participate in the workshop – the tuition fee covers one individual and you must register for each adult and child attending. Glass projects will be ready two weeks from the class date.
In this class, teens will develop observational and sketching skills by drawing still life arrangements. Using diverse drawing materials and tools, this course introduces different technical methods to depict objects through shape, texture, volume, and proportion. All materials will be provided. Students will experiment with image transfer, painting, printmaking, and drawing while they explore texture, pattern, and layering – the possibilities are endless! Scratchboard is a form of direct engraving where the artist uses sharp knives and tools to scratch off dark ink to reveal a white or colored layer beneath. Scratchboard can be used to yield highly detailed, precise and evenly textured artwork. In this workshop, participants will learn scratchboard techniques, such as drawing, scratching, and cross-hatching. For youth 15 years and younger, an adult must participate in the workshop – the registration fee covers one individual, and you must register for each adult and child/youth attending.
This family workshop will introduce parents and youth to the fundamentals of painting landscapes with acrylic paints, while allowing more advanced students an opportunity to hone their skills. All paints and materials provided. This workshop is appropriate for ages 5+. For youth, an adult must participate in the workshop.
