In this camp for youth, age 9–11, students will spend time both inside and outside (weather permitting) exploring the natural world through painting and drawing. Campers will learn to observe and interpret landscapes, plants, and other elements of nature, experimenting with styles ranging from impressionistic to representational to abstract. A variety of materials—including paints, colored pencils, and pastels—will be introduced as students practice essential techniques in composition, color mixing, texture, and shading.

In this creative camp for youth, ages 9–11, students will explore the colorful world of fabric art using materials such as fabric, yarn, beads, and paper. Campers will learn a variety of textile-inspired art techniques—like weaving, stitching, layering, and collage—to create unique mixed-media artworks that celebrate texture and design.This camp is perfect for young artists who love experimenting with new materials and combining colors, patterns, and textures to bring their ideas to life! All materials provided.

This camp invites young artists, age 9–11, to explore the creative world of handmade paper and mixed-media art. Throughout the week, students will discover how paper is made, experiment with colorful pulp, and create unique sheets using recycled materials, natural textures, and marbling techniques. They’ll use their handmade papers as a canvas for drawing and painting, collaborate on group projects, and learn how materials can be transformed through artmaking.

This camp for youth, age 9-11, focuses on creative embroidery and patchmaking techniques to personalize and embellish hats and caps. Students will explore a variety of stitching, appliqué, and beading methods to design custom patches and decorative elements that express their individual style. Each participant will receive a LUX hat or cap to transform into a one-of-a-kind wearable artwork.

This drawing camp for youth, age 9–11, introduces the exciting world of character and cartoon design, focusing on essential drawing and illustration skills. Over the course of the week, students will learn how to develop expressive characters, explore storytelling through poses and facial expressions, and bring their ideas to life using a variety of drawing techniques. All materials provided.

This class will introduce beginning students to the fundamentals of painting with watercolors through still life, landscape, and projects of personal interest. All paints, brushes, and materials provided. Please bring a reference photo if desired.  This Class is for Adults aged 16+

LUX Artist in Residence Alex Renbarger uses oil paint and color to bring importance to the mundane. Try out oil painting techniques she uses such as wet on wet and thin/thick paint applications alongside fun color theory tips like creating emphasis through saturation and value. By the end of the workshop, you will leave with your very own painting turning a chosen mundane object into the main character. Please bring a reference image if desired. All materials are provided. This workshop is for Adults 16+.

Looking for a creative night out? Gather your family, friends, or date and dive into the colorful world of fused glass! Our expert teaching artists will lead you through the process of designing and creating a unique ornament or small glass piece—no experience needed.

Youth must attend with an adult. Tuition is per person; be sure to register each participant. Your completed glass artwork will be available for pickup two weeks after class.

Join us on Saturday mornings for our 2-D with a Cup of Tea series, where participants will be exposed to a wide variety of 2-D mediums and techniques. This class will introduce beginning students to the fundamentals of painting with oil paints, with a focus on technique and color mixing. More advanced students will have time to hone their skills. All paints and materials provided. Students are invited to bring reference photos.  All materials are provided. Participants are encouraged to bring a non-alcoholic beverage. This class is for adults 16+.

In this workshop with Artist-in-Residence Stacy Larson, participants will use Argentium silver (highly tarnish-resistant, hypoallergenic, brighter and stronger than sterling) and learn to design and create their own earrings! The workshop will cover basic fabrication methods and how to shape, file, sand, and texture your pieces. Participants will leave with a couple of pairs of earrings ready to wear. All materials provided. This workshop is for Adults 16+.
