Create handmade felt ornaments and bask in the cozy spirit of the winter season while learning a variety of fiber art techniques. Inspired by the instructor’s own tradition of finding or making one new ornament each year with family to add to the tree, this workshop celebrates both creativity and the memories we make together. Students will begin by building ornaments from layered felt before adding dimension with needle felted details, or they may choose to create fully sculptural needle felted ornaments instead. Artist in Residence Alex Renbarger will demonstrate how to needle felt relief forms onto flat felt shapes, build simple sculptural forms with stuffing, and combine two- and three-dimensional elements into unique keepsakes. Whether you come with family and friends or make new ones during the workshop, you'll leave with an ornament that can become part of your own holiday traditions. No experience necessary. All materials are provided. This class is for adults ages 16+.
