This class offers continuation of the fundamentals of wheel throwing. Dive a little deeper into the basics of throwing, trimming, and glazing by experimenting with different forms and refining techniques in this four week class. Students will use earthenware clay and low-fire glazes. All materials and kiln firings are included. Pottery wheel experience prior to registering for this class, or previous enrollment in Intro to Wheel Throwing or Experience the Wheel is recommended though not required. Each participant gets to keep one project from the evening which will be clear glazed and ready approximately two weeks after the workshop. Please wear older clothes and shoes as they may get messy or stained. This workshop is for Adults 16+.

Intermediate wheel students will build skills and fluency with clay by exploring the foundations of the pottery wheel with a variety of fun exercises and loose assignments. The class will begin with an overview of the basics (wedging, centering, pulling, etc) to build a solid foundation and help give students confidence to take on more complex forms. Students will learn, in depth, about the process of turning clay into ceramic, including drying stages and moisture management, firing processes, decorating techniques, fixing mistakes, planning forward, and more.
This 8-week advanced pottery class is designed for experienced ceramic artists interested in creating sophisticated bar and drinkware inspired by cocktail and alcohol culture. Students will focus on throwing, altering, and refining functional forms such as cocktail glasses, tumblers, wine cups, whiskey sippers, decanters, and pitchers, with an emphasis on consistency, ergonomics, and intentional design.
