Start your Saturday with a fun, wheel throwing class for ages 9+! LUX Teaching Artists will provide instruction and inspiration as participants learn the basics of the pottery wheel. Projects may include bowls, mugs, and vases. Participants will glaze their thrown pottery on the second week of class with various colored glazes. A paying adult must accompany all children age 11 and under. Teens, age 12-15, do not need a parent/guardian to stay, but they MUST be reachable in case of emergencies.

Join a date, family member or friend or venture out on your own for a night of fun on the pottery wheel! You are guided through the basics of working on the pottery wheel in this fun and messy workshop! Each participant gets to keep one project from the evening which will be clear glazed and ready approximately two weeks after the workshop.  Please wear older clothes and shoes as they may get messy or stained. This workshop is for adults 16+.

An introduction to the fundamentals of the pottery wheel for students that have never experienced it before! Students will use earthenware clay and low-fire glazes. All materials and kiln firings are provided. Work for this class will be completed during the scheduled class times and will be available for pick up approximately two weeks after the workshop. Intermediate wheel students will build skills and fluency with clay by exploring the foundations of the pottery wheel with a variety of fun exercises and loose assignments. The class will begin with an overview of the basics (wedging, centering, pulling, etc) to build a solid foundation and help give students confidence to take on more complex forms. Students will learn, in depth, about the process of turning clay into ceramic including drying stages and moisture management, firing processes, decorating techniques, fixing mistakes, planning forward, and more.

A quick and dirty class that lets you dip your toe into the basics of wheel-thrown pottery. This three-week ceramics course is designed for people with no background in clay looking to experience the wheel in an easy and no-stress environment. This class is a wonderful way to familiarize yourself with our studios and begin joining our community! Students will use earthenware clay and low-fire glazes. All materials and kiln firings are included. This class is for Adults 16+.

This pottery wheel class for Teens age 12-15, teaches the fundamentals of starting a project on the wheel, focusing on the essential first steps. Over the course of the week, students will learn more advanced throwing and finishing techniques. This camp is open to both beginners and experienced students, with the opportunity for more advanced students to explore their own ideas with instructor guidance. All materials, tools, and firing are provided. Participants should wear clothes that can get messy.

This pottery wheel class, for Youth ages 9-11, teaches the basics of starting a project on the wheel, focusing on essential foundational skills. Over the course of the week, students will learn more advanced throwing and finishing techniques. Both beginners and experienced students are welcome, with experienced students having the opportunity to work on personalized projects under instructor guidance. All materials, tools, and firing are provided. Projects will be available for pick up at the main LUX building approximately 2 weeks after the last day of camp.
